Does for Sale
Reservations and Deposits:

Purchasing Kids:
Reservations are accepted at any time. To reserve a kid from a particular breeding, please send an e-mail with the following information - full name, email address, telephone number, herd name and website address or Facebook page.

Once the doe has kidded and we have confirmed that the desired kid is available, a non-refundable deposit of half the purchase price is required within fourteen days.  The balance must be paid in full before the goat(s) leave our farm.  If the deposit is not received within fourteen days, the sale will be cancelled and the kid(s) will be offered to the next person on the reservation list or posted "For Sale" on the website.  Kids are weaned at 8 weeks of age and are ready to leave at 10 weeks.  A boarding fee of $2.00 per day will be charged for any kids that have not been picked up or shipped by 12 weeks of age.  If pickup or shipping arrangements have not been confirmed by the time the kid(s) is 16 weeks old, the sale will be cancelled.

We reserve the right to adjust pricing on kids once they are born.  This will be based on our assessment of the kid's conformation and the quality of the dam's udder.  Pricing on kids reserved prior to kidding and confirmed with a paid deposit will remain unchanged.

Purchasing Adult Goats:
To keep our herd at a manageable level, yearlings and adult does/bucks may be offered for sale.  The sales policy is the same.  A non-refundable deposit of half the purchase price is required within fourteen days.  The balance must be paid in full before the goat(s) leave our farm.  If the deposit is not received within fourteen days, the sale will be cancelled.  If the goat has not been picked up or transport arranged within fourteen days of paying the deposit, a daily boarding fee will be charged.

PLEASE NOTE: DEPOSITS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF THE BUYER CANCELS THE SALE.

Whenever possible, I prefer that goats are picked up from our farm by the new owner.  If this is not possible, transport with a reputable livestock transporter is acceptable .  All arrangements for transport are the responsibility of the purchaser.  The cost of transport, health certificates, blood testing, and any other expenses associated with transporting the goat(s) must be paid in advance by the purchaser.

Pricing:
Wethers (castrated bucks) = $100 each

Registered Breeding/Show Quality kids = Start at $450 each.

Milkers/Pets (Sold without Registration Papers) = Start at $250 each.

Adult Registered Breeding Does/Bucks * = Start at $450 each.
*  In order to maintain a manageable herd size, we will sometimes offer adult does/bucks for sale.  These will be priced according to the quality of each goat, taking into consideration such things as conformation, quality of udder, pedigree, show performance, Linear Appraisal scores, etc.

Certificates of Registration:  All kids (except wethers) will be registered with ADGA before they leave the farm.  The registration fee will be added to the purchase price.

Payment:
Deposits may be paid by personal check only if there is sufficient time for the payment to be processed by our bank prior to the goat(s) leaving our farm.  Final payment must be paid by cash or PayPal.  If paying by PayPal, an additional 3% must be added to the payment to cover the PayPal fees.

Transport:
To ensure a safe and stress-free trip to their new home, goats must be transported in an SUV, a pickup with a cap, a minivan or a similar vehicle with a cargo area large enough for a dog crate/carrier.  The kennel must be large enough for the goat to stand up.  An open bed pickup or trailer is acceptable ONLY IF THE CRATE IS COMPLETELY COVERED BY A BLANKET OR TARP.

As you have probably gathered by now, each and every one of our goats is very special to us. It is extremely important to us that any goat that leaves our farm is going to a good home where it will be cherished and properly cared for. Visits to our farm are welcome (by appointment only, please), and we will happily answer any questions you may have.

Here are our guidelines for a good home:
  • Goats are herd animals and therefore we will not sell single goats unless the prospective new owner already has other goats of a similar age and size at home.
  •  A securely fenced yard of adequate size where the goats will have plenty of room to run and play. Exercise is critical for maintaining appropriate weight.
  • A sturdy draft-free shelter to provide protection from harsh weather, with fresh bedding of straw or shavings. It is essential to the health of the goats that the bedding be cleaned out and replenished frequently.
  • A properly balanced diet is imperative to maintain good health. This includes a feed ration specifically formulated for dairy goats, good quality leafy hay, and lots of fresh water. A mineral supplement and sodium bicarbonate must also be available "free-choice".
  • A yearly visit by a veterinarian for annual injections of CD/T, Bo-Se (if you live in a deficient area), and Rabies.
  • Regular hoof trimming (every 4 to 6 weeks).
  • Parasite Control (Deworming) - We strongly recommend having fecal tests performed by your veterinarian at least once each year. Parasites can become resistent to dewormers, and the fecal test will show whether or not you need to use a different product to treat whatever parasites are indicated.

Please contact us if you have any questions about how to properly care for your goats.
